Mr. John HOLLOWAY
Strategic Advisor “SunTest Energy Services”
Mr. John HOLLOWAY is the Strategic Advisor at SunTest Energy Services, whose current role encompasses the facilitation of new technology into its growing business propositions through the acquisition of equipment and the implementation of training programs that ensure high quality performance. Mr. HOLLOWAY attended Georgia Tech where he studied Chemical Engineering before transferring major to Systems Engineering and then graduating with his degree in Mechanical Engineering. During this time, he was invited to be part of the newly established State of Georgia Police, and attended and graduated from the State of Georgia Police Academy in Police Science. He began his engineering career with Monsanto, then worked as Training and Technology Officer for the State of Georgia Police, then worked in the Operations engineering group in Georgia Power. Subsequently, Mr. John joined Gearhart Industries in 1984, working with Measurement and Logging While Drilling (MLWD), specializing in field testing and the introduction of new MLWD technologies. After Halliburton’s acquisition of Gearhart, he served as the LWD Training and Operations Manager in the United States, providing a focus on the initial development of medium radius horizontal drilling, specifically in the Austin Chalk. Then after transferring to the Far East, he oversaw Brunei’s MLWD Operations as its’ manager. During his time abroad, he introduced horizontal drilling and geo-steering to China, and took on two separate roles including the role of Halliburton Drilling Manager in Thailand and provided Drilling Regional Asset management in Singapore. He returned to the United States in 1996 and began 20 years of service in Halliburton Drilling’s Global Direct Sales team, where his unique talents and experience allowed him to develop successful working relationships for the service and sales support of MLWD. His expertise brought about the successful integration of external technology to several independent startups and National Oil Companies around the globe. In 2016, Mr. HOLLOWAY retired from Halliburton as Direct Sales Global Technical Advisor.
